The noble, virtuous ruler of Mithila (Videha), loyal friend of King Rajahamsa of Magadha and father of the heroic twin princes Apaharavarman and Upaharavarman. Dethroned by his treacherous half-brother Vikatavarma, he was restored to his throne by his son.
