Sant Kabir Sahib: Mystic Legends & Miracles

The Foundation of Jagannath Puri & The Taming of the Ocean

कबीर साहिब और जगन्नाथ स्थापना: सागर का स्तम्भन एवं द्वारका-समर्पण

The authentic chronicle from Kabir Manshoor (pp. 252-257): In Treta Yuga, Rama bound the ocean to build the Ram Setu, leaving the Ocean burning with vengeance. In Kaliyuga, when King Indradyumna attempts to construct the Jagannath Temple, the wrathful ocean destroys it six times. Kabir Sahib remembers His cosmic promise to Niranjan, descends to Utkal, establishes His sacred Chabutara and Yogadanda (Aasa) at the shoreline, freezes the raging waters, grants Dwarka Puri as restitution, shatters caste discrimination, and ordains the eternal law of Mahaprasad.
