The Seventh Statue: Kaushalya & The Inexhaustible Urn
सप्तम पुतली कौशल्या: दो दिव्य उपहार, दरिद्र ब्राह्मण और अक्षय-पात्र का पावन दान
The Seventh Dawn & Kaushalya
सप्तम सूर्योदय और कौशल्या का प्रबोधन
On the seventh dawn in Dharanagari palace, golden sunlight streamed across the white lotus marble dais toward the thirty-two-step throne.

Draped in sacred saffron silks, King Bhoja approached the seventh step of the golden throne with solemn, reverent stride.

As King Bhoja lifted his right foot toward the seventh step, the marble floor erupted with brilliant topaz-golden and solar radiance!

The seventh carved bronze statue—**Kaushalya (कौशल्या)**—opened her glowing topaz-golden eyes, laughing with melodious temple-bell chime!
Halt, King Bhoja! Dare not place your foot upon this seventh step!

King Bhoja halted in deep reverence with folded hands, gazing in awe at the living celestial bronze maiden holding a golden cornucopia urn.
O divine Kaushalya! What tale of boundless charity and supreme generosity of Emperor Vikramaditya do you bring today?

Kaushalya raised her golden cornucopia urn, speaking with sovereign authority:
Do you possess the boundless charity and generosity of Emperor Vikramaditya when he received the Inexhaustible Food Urn and the Gold Conch from Indra, and gifted both away to a poor envious scholar without keeping a coin for himself?
The Vishwa-Kalyana Yajna & Indra
शिप्रा तट पर विश्व-कल्याण यज्ञ और देवराज इन्द्र का वरदान
On the sacred banks of the Shipra river in Ujjayini, Emperor Vikramaditya performed a magnificent universal *Vishwa-Kalyana Yajna* to alleviate famine across all realms.

As the final oblations were offered, the heavens parted with celestial light as Lord Indra descended upon a cloud surrounded by a fragrant shower of divine Parijata petals!

Lord Indra presented two blazing celestial treasures to Vikramaditya: the golden *Akshaya-Kumbha* (Inexhaustible Food Urn) and the glowing *Suvarna-Shankha* (Gold-Yielding Conch).
O righteous Emperor! Keep these divine artifacts in your palace, and your empire shall never know hunger or poverty for a thousand years!

The two miraculous artifacts rested upon the sacred sandalwood altar, radiating pure solar abundance and boundless prosperity.

Vikramaditya bowed in humble gratitude before Lord Indra, accepting the divine gifts as a sacred trust for the welfare of all living beings.
This divine grace shall serve every hungry soul across Aryavarta!

The two celestial treasures were installed upon a sacred sandalwood dais in the grand audience hall of Ujjayini palace.
With these divine treasures, our realm shall remain prosperous for all generations!
The Destitute Brahmin & The Test of Envy
दरिद्र पण्डित देवस्वामी और ईर्ष्या का संताप
In a dilapidated mud cottage outside Avanti, impoverished scholar Devasvami watched his weeping wife and hungry children shiver on straw mats.

Hearing news of the divine treasures, Devasvami took his wooden walking staff and journeyed toward Ujjayini, muttering cynical complaints about royal hoards.
Kings hoard magical urns in golden palaces while pious scholars starve on dry grass! Let us see if Vikramaditya's charity is real!

Outside the marble palace gates of Ujjayini, Emperor Vikramaditya in simple citizen's robes encountered the weary, limping Brahmin.

Devasvami complained bitterly to the disguised stranger: *"Where is the justice of Ujjayini? Kings fill their vaults while scholars beg for crusts!"*

Instead of taking offense, Vikramaditya smiled with boundless empathy, gently taking the scholar's hand and escorting him into the royal hall.
Welcome, noble scholar! Your suffering shall find its end this very day!

Vikramaditya seated the astonished poor Brahmin upon an ivory throne in the audience hall, offering him cool water and fragrant sandalwood garlands.
The Royal Choice & The Overnight Test
दिव्य उपहारों की परीक्षा और पण्डित का धर्म-संकट
Vikramaditya presented both celestial treasures before Devasvami: the glowing *Akshaya-Kumbha* and the radiant *Suvarna-Shankha*.
Ask for whichever treasure your heart desires, noble scholar, and it shall be yours this very instant!

Devasvami gazed between the two artifacts in overwhelming turmoil, unable to choose between infinite food and endless heaps of gold.
One grants an end to hunger forever, while the other brings a lifetime of golden prosperity!

Vikramaditya smiled warmly: *"Take both artifacts to your village cottage tonight; test their powers and make your choice tomorrow!"*

In his humble hut, Devasvami touched the *Akshaya-Kumbha*, producing endless steaming platters of divine feast that fed his entire starving village!

When he blew the *Suvarna-Shankha*, piles of sparkling emeralds, rubies, and pure gold coins flooded his earthen floor!

At dawn, Devasvami returned to Ujjayini court with head bowed in deep distress and emotional conflict.
The Double Gift & The Supreme Grant
महाराज का अकल्पनीय दान और पण्डित का पश्चाताप
Devasvami confessed in tears: *"My wife begs for the food urn, while my sons weep for the gold conch! I cannot choose one without breaking the heart of the other!"*
I am utterly unable to choose between sustenance and prosperity, O Emperor!

Without a single heartbeat of hesitation or regret, Emperor Vikramaditya stepped forward and placed both celestial treasures into the Brahmin's hands!

Vikramaditya declared with boundless magnanimity:
Then take both treasures forever, noble scholar! Why should a righteous king force a poor family to choose between sustenance and prosperity? Both are yours!

Devasvami dropped to his knees in overwhelming tears of repentance and reverence: *"You are not a mortal king—you are Dharma incarnate upon this earth!"*
Forgive the bitter cynicism I held in my heart, O most generous of kings!

Vikramaditya embraced the scholar: *"True wealth belongs to those in need, not to the vaults of an emperor."*

Devasvami returned to his village with the divine treasures, while Vikramaditya stood in quiet contentment, rich in virtue.
Kaushalya
कौशल्या का निर्णय और राजा भोज का संकोच
Back in the grand audience hall of Dharanagari, the living statue Kaushalya looked directly into King Bhoja's eyes with penetrating topaz-golden radiance.

Kaushalya delivered her decisive challenge:
Now tell me, King Bhoja—have you ever received the supreme treasures of the gods, and handed both the Inexhaustible Urn and the Gold Conch to an impoverished beggar without keeping a single coin? If you possess such boundless charity, ascend this step! If not, turn back!

King Bhoja lowered his head in deep humility and introspection:
I lack such boundless charity and superhuman generosity, O celestial maiden. I am not yet worthy of the seventh step of Vikramaditya's throne.

King Bhoja stepped down from the seventh step, ordering free community kitchens (*Annakshetras*) and public granaries established in every city across Malwa.

Public food distribution sanctuaries were established across all districts of the kingdom.

Twilight conches echoed across Dharanagari as Kaushalya smiled warmly and froze back into silent speculum bronze. **The seventh day of *Singhasan Battisi* had concluded!**
