The Eighth Statue: Sukhavika & The Forest Leopard's Mercy
अष्टम पुतली सुखाविका: दो दैवज्ञ, राजा का मृत्यु-योग और व्याघ्र-शावक का पावन उद्धार
The Eighth Dawn & Sukhavika
अष्टम सूर्योदय और सुखाविका का प्रबोधन (प्रथम ऋतु पूर्णाहुति)
On the eighth dawn in Dharanagari palace, golden sunlight streamed through the sandstone colonnade onto the thirty-two-step golden throne, marking the climax of Season 1.

Draped in sacred saffron silks, King Bhoja approached the eighth step of the golden throne with solemn, measured stride.

As King Bhoja lifted his right foot toward the eighth step, the marble dais erupted with brilliant diamond-crystal and golden radiance!

The eighth carved bronze statue—**Sukhavika (सुखाविका)**—opened her glowing diamond-crystal eyes, laughing with melodious temple-bell chime!
Halt, King Bhoja! Dare not place your foot upon this eighth step!

King Bhoja halted in deep reverence with folded hands, gazing in awe at the living celestial bronze maiden holding a crystal astrolabe.
O divine Sukhavika! What tale of destiny-conquering fearlessness of Emperor Vikramaditya do you bring today?

Sukhavika raised her celestial astrolabe, speaking with sovereign authority:
Do you possess the transcendent fearlessness and compassion of Emperor Vikramaditya when he walked unarmed to meet his predicted death by a leopard, and rewrote fate itself by saving a dying predator's cub?
The Fatal Royal Horoscope of Ujjayini
उज्जयिनी की वेधशाला और सम्राट का मृत्यु-योग
In the royal observatory of ancient Ujjayini under starry skies, master astrologer Varahamitra and royal astronomers calculated the Emperor's horoscope under a rare planetary alignment.

With trembling hands, they discovered an inevitable fatal conjunction (*Mrityu-Yoga*): on the next full moon eclipse at midnight, a ferocious black leopard in Mahavana was fated to slay the Emperor!

In open court, Varahamitra presented the fatal horoscope in tears, begging Vikramaditya to lock himself inside an iron fortress surrounded by a thousand archers.
O Emperor! Step not into Mahavana on eclipse night! The conjunction of the stars is absolute!

Vikramaditya smiled with serene yogic detachment:
Death is the eternal law of the mortal frame, noble scholar! A Kshatriya never hides behind iron walls in cowardice while his forest creatures suffer!

Vikramaditya rewarded the astrologers with gold coins for their mathematical precision, strictly forbidding any armed bodyguards from accompanying him.
At least take ten royal swordsmen into the dark forest, O King!
Weapons are the mark of fear, wise minister. Where there is faith, the armor of Dharma alone is sufficient!

At twilight on eclipse day, the Emperor set aside his royal armor and Wootz steel sword, donning simple, unadorned white silk garments.
The Midnight Walk into Mahavana
महावन में एकाकी पदयात्रा और काल-शार्दूल का प्राकट्य
Under the silver veil of the full moon eclipse, Vikramaditya walked alone into the dense, misty wilderness of Mahavana, completely unarmed.

Through twisted ancient banyan roots and granite gorges shrouded in creeping mist, he walked with steady, meditative steps.

Entering a narrow rocky canyon, a bloodcurdling predator roar echoed violently off the jagged cliff walls!

On a high rocky ledge above, the giant black forest leopard (*Kala-Shardula*) crouched with bared fangs and glowing emerald eyes, preparing to pounce!

Vikramaditya stood calmly in the moonlit clearing with folded hands, projecting pure, unconditional love (*Karuna*) toward the ferocious beast.
O sovereign of the wild! If the stars decreed my flesh to satisfy your hunger, I accept without fear!

The giant black leopard leaped off the ledge, landing five paces from the unarmed Emperor with razor claws extended!
The Trapped Cub & The Act of Fearless Mercy
दबे हुए शावक की रक्षा और पाषाण-उत्तोलन
Just as the predator crouched to strike, Vikramaditya heard a faint, agonizing whimper from beneath a fallen granite boulder.
Hold, mother! Your roar is not malice, but the cry of a mother pleading for her trapped child!

Beneath the crushing rock lay the leopard's newborn cub, pinned and slowly dying of crushed limbs and dehydration!

Ignoring the snarling mother hovering inches above him, Vikramaditya knelt down, using his immense warrior strength to hoist the massive granite boulder aside!
Rise, little one! In the realm of Dharma, no innocent shall perish before its time!

He gently lifted the injured cub into his arms, applying soothing herbal balm from his pouch and pouring fresh water into its parched mouth.

Within moments, the cub's pain vanished, and it purred playfully, licking the Emperor's fingers in joyful vitality!

Seeing her cub restored and safe, the fierce black leopard dropped her fangs, bowing her head and nuzzling gently against Vikramaditya's feet in tears of animal gratitude!
The Celestial Transfiguration & Rewritten Destiny
दिव्य वन-देवताओं का वरदान और भाग्य का पुनर्लेखन
As the eclipse passed, a brilliant celestial golden light enveloped the canyon, transfiguring the leopard and cub into radiant winged forest guardians (*Vana-Devatas*)!

The celestial forest spirit blessed Emperor Vikramaditya: *"He whose heart holds selfless love even for deadly predators commands time itself!"*
O Emperor of Dharma! Through your boundless compassion, all forests shall remain blessed forever!

Astrologer Varahamitra and court ministers, who had secretly followed with torches in terror, fell to their knees in overwhelming awe.
Forgive our small minds, O Emperor! Your selfless love has altered the wheels of time itself!

Vikramaditya addressed the humbled astrologers:
Your planetary math was true, noble scholars! But selfless compassion and Dharma possess the power to rewrite the destiny of the stars!

Under the golden dawn, Emperor Vikramaditya led the joyous procession back toward the sunlit gates of Ujjayini.

The citizens celebrated the triumph of fearless love and Dharma over fatalistic fear.
Sukhavika
सुखाविका का निर्णय और प्रथम ऋतु (सीज़न १) का भव्य समापन
Back in the grand audience hall of Dharanagari, the living statue Sukhavika looked directly into King Bhoja's eyes with penetrating diamond radiance.

Sukhavika delivered the Season 1 Finale challenge:
Now tell me, King Bhoja—have you ever walked unarmed into the jaws of a predator to face predicted death, and rewritten fate through pure love for a beast without fear? If you possess such transcendent courage, ascend this step! If not, turn back!

King Bhoja lowered his head in deep humility and introspection:
I lack such transcendent fearlessness and boundless love for the wild, O celestial maiden. I am not yet worthy of the eighth step of Vikramaditya's throne.

King Bhoja stepped down from the eighth step, decreeing strict royal bans on animal hunting and establishing protected wildlife sanctuaries across all provinces of Malwa.

Wildlife protection sanctuaries and forest water reservoirs were constructed throughout the realm.

Twilight conches echoed across Dharanagari as Sukhavika smiled warmly and froze back into silent speculum bronze. **Season 1 (Statues 1 to 8 / Chapters 0 to 8) of *Singhasan Battisi* had concluded in glory!**
