The Thirtieth Statue: Jayalakshmi & The Sarvamedha Sacrifice
त्रिंशत् पुतली जयलक्ष्मी: सार्वभौम त्याग का महा-यज्ञ, सुवर्ण-वेदी और निर्धन भिक्षुक की विजय
The Thirtieth Dawn & Jayalakshmi
तीसवाँ सूर्योदय और जयलक्ष्मी का प्रबोधन
On the thirtieth dawn in Dharanagari palace, morning sunlight streamed across the sandstone colonnade onto the thirty-two-step golden throne.

Draped in sacred saffron silks, King Bhoja approached the thirtieth step of the golden throne with solemn, reverent stride.

As King Bhoja lifted his right foot toward the thirtieth step, the marble dais erupted with brilliant diamond-gold and victorious emerald radiance!

The thirtieth carved bronze statue—**Jayalakshmi (जयलक्ष्मी)**—opened her glowing diamond-gold eyes, laughing with melodious temple-bell chime!
"Halt, King Bhoja! Dare not place your foot upon this thirtieth step!"

King Bhoja halted in deep reverence with folded hands, gazing in awe at the living celestial bronze maiden holding a golden victory lotus and sacrificial spoon.
"O divine Jayalakshmi! What tale of supreme renunciation and universal sacrifice of Emperor Vikramaditya do you bring today?"

Jayalakshmi raised the golden victory lotus, speaking with sovereign authority:
"Do you possess the supreme renunciation of Emperor Vikramaditya when at the final oblation of the Sarvamedha Yajna he gave away the entire golden palace, all forty treasury vaults, and his royal crown to a wandering beggar without a moment of hesitation?"

Along the sacred Shipra River in Ujjayini, Emperor Vikramaditya convened the monumental **Sarvamedha Yajna** in the presence of all kings and hundreds of thousands of citizens.

In the center of the vast sacrificial ground stood a magnificent golden pavilion with twelve jewel-encrusted altars (*Suvarna-Vedi*) glowing under the sun!

Mountains of pearls, silk bales, chests of rubies, and ten million gold coins surrounded the perimeter to be distributed to scholars and the poor.

Chief Priest Sage Vedagarbha stood before the sacred fire, chanting Vedic mantras as preparations for the final oblation (*Purna-Ahuti*) commenced.
"Om Svaha! Victory to the supreme sacrifice of Universal Sovereign Vikramaditya!"

Emperor Vikramaditya, draped in royal ceremonial brocades and the diamond imperial crown, stood ready to offer the final oblation.

At the outer perimeter, an impoverished wandering beggar named Dinabandhu in frayed tree-bark rags arrived with trembling, dust-covered hands.

Imperial guards lowered their spears to push the ragged beggar away from the pristine royal enclosure.

Vikramaditya commanded instantly: *"Halt! The sacrifice of a king is incomplete if even a single hungry soul is turned away at the gates!"*
"Let the beggar enter with full honor and respect!"

The Emperor stepped down from the golden dais, walking barefoot across the sacrificial dust to receive the beggar.

The Emperor of Aryavarta bowed with folded hands before the ragged wanderer, offering cool water and fruits.
"Speak, noble traveler! What do you seek from Vikramaditya's sacrifice?"

Testing the King's fame, Dinabandhu replied boldly: *"I desire this entire golden sacrificial palace, all the treasury chests stacked around it, and the royal crown on your head!"*
"If you are truly the peerless giver of Aryavarta, grant me all of this!"

The assembled vassal kings and ministers gasped in outrage, urging Vikramaditya to banish the insolent beggar.
"This beggar is mad! Cast him into the dungeons, O King!"

Vikramaditya smiled with radiant, divine serenity (*Tyaga-Ananda*): *"What belongs to the Divine cannot be withheld from a child of God!"*
"All of this belongs to you from this very moment, noble traveler!"

Without a second of hesitation, Emperor Vikramaditya gently removed his diamond-inlaid golden crown, placing it in the beggar's hands.
"This royal crown too belongs to you, brother!"

Taking a golden pitcher, the Emperor poured holy Shipra water over the beggar's palms, formalizing the eternal gift of the entire golden palace and treasury vaults!

Vikramaditya placed the golden keys of all forty treasure vaults into the beggar's hands without looking back!
"Be at peace, brother! The shadow of poverty shall never touch your life again."

All assembled kings, sages, and warriors stood in breathless silence at such unimaginable sovereign renunciation.

Stripped of all jewels and crowns, Vikramaditya stood in a simple white linen tunic, radiating the transcendent spiritual luster of a living Brahma-Rishi!

Overwhelmed by the King's pure detachment, Dinabandhu collapsed to his knees in tears of profound spiritual transformation!
"Forgive my insolence, O Royal Sage! I came merely to test your renown!"

Dinabandhu declared: *"When a King gave away an empire without looking back, how can I hoard gold? Let this entire golden complex become a free hospital and university for the poor!"*
"This fortune shall serve the orphans, sick, and students of all Aryavarta!"

Lord Indra, Varuna, and Agni manifested in the sacred Yajna smoke, showering fragrant celestial Parijata flowers upon Emperor Vikramaditya!

Hundreds of thousands of citizens and vassal kings erupted in standing ovation: *"Hail to Emperor Vikramaditya, the King of Supreme Renunciation!"*

Master masons transformed the golden pavilion into the largest free Ayurvedic hospital and residential university for all seekers.

The entire nation celebrated the victory of renunciation over greed, understanding that true sovereignty lies not in holding wealth, but in surrendering ego for universal welfare!
Jayalakshmi
जयलक्ष्मी का निर्णय और राजा भोज का संकोच
Back in the grand audience hall of Dharanagari, the living statue Jayalakshmi looked directly into King Bhoja's eyes with penetrating diamond-gold radiance.

Jayalakshmi delivered her decisive challenge:
"Now tell me, King Bhoja—have you ever given away your golden sacrificial palace, treasury vaults, and royal crown to a wandering beggar at the peak of victory without a single trace of hesitation? If you possess such supreme renunciation, ascend this step! If not, turn back!"

King Bhoja lowered his head in deep humility and introspection:
"I lack such transcendent supreme renunciation (*Sarvasva-Tyaga*), absolute detachment from imperial glory, and boundless magnanimity, O celestial maiden. I am not yet worthy of the thirtieth step."

King Bhoja stepped down from the thirtieth step, decreeing statewide free hospitals, public charity universities, and voluntary wealth-capping trusts established across all districts of Malwa.

Special decrees were enacted to build free hospitals and university trusts funded by royal endowments.

Twilight conches echoed across Dharanagari as Jayalakshmi smiled warmly and froze back into silent speculum bronze. **The thirtieth day of *Singhasan Battisi* had concluded!**

The final two celestial statues gleamed in the evening torchlight, awaiting the dawn of the thirty-first test (**Statue 31: Sulakshana / Kaushalya-Dvitiya**).

King Bhoja departed the throne hall in quiet contemplation, inspired by the supreme sacrificial renunciation and egoless statecraft of Emperor Vikramaditya.
